Third annual Emery County Recreation/Millsite Men's Association amateur four person scramble

The third annual Emery County Recreation/Millsite Men's Association amateur four person scramble will be held on June 16.

There will be a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Entry fees are $40 per person and includes green fees, cart, lunch, and entry into closest to the hole competition on holes five and seven.

Teams may be comprised of women, men and juniors.

Teams must also pre-register at the Emery Recreation Office, 72 South 400 East in Castle Dale, or Millsite Golf Course in Ferron.

Know Before You Go ATV classes for youth riders

All-terrain vehicle and off-highway motorcycle education courses will be held in Carbon County June 7 and 16. Students must pre-register. Call 1-800-648-7433.

Fish for Free on June 9 in Utah in all waters

A free day of fishing and fun awaits June 9, as Utah hosts its annual Free Fishing Day. You won't need a fishing license to fish in the state that day.

While a license is not needed to fish on June 9, all of the other regulations in the 2007 Utah Fishing Guide will still be in effect.

Anglers, especially those who might be fishing for the first time, are encouraged to obtain a copy of the guide and learn the rules. Guides are available at the DWR's Web site ( and from fishing license agents and DWR offices.
